I've been reading a book called 'The Longest Decade' by a journalist called George Megalogenis. It weaves together the history of two of Australia's recent Prime Ministers, Paul Keating and John Howard and is a great read.
I never knew much about Keating before (he was Labor's last PM before Rudd) but I've discovered he's quite a legend. I'm already a big fan.

Dave, the book you absolutely must read while you are there, if you are a pjk fan is Don Watson, Recollections of a Bleeding Heart. It should have been edited better, but it's one of the best political biographies ever.
It's on my list actually - have had it recommended to me a few times.
